Amazing Photo Effect in Photoshop

Today i would like to share how to create fantastic orange using photoshop. In this tutorial we use fantastic method to make this effect. So, why not have a try...

Step 1

Open the image with the orange in Photoshop.
As you probably already know, it's best to always have a duplicate of your background image in case you make a mistake when editing images. You can do that in 3 ways:
1. right click on the layer and chose Duplicate layer

2. double click on the layer and then press OK

3. Alt + double click on the layer. This one is the easiest and the one I use

Step 2

Now select the Pen Tool (P), make sure it's set on Paths and make a slice into the orange. After you've done that, right click and choose Make selection. Leave Feather Radius: 0 and press OK.

Step 3

Now that you have your selection, hit the Delete key and the press Ctrl+D to deselect:

Step 4

Now is the time to open another picture, the one with the peeled orange. Open it, make a selection and then copy and paste selection making sure you put new layer under the one with orange. It looks as if we can see the inside of orange now.

Step 5

Next step is to open the image with the orange cut in half and select the peel, like you see in the image below.

Step 6

Copy the selection, paste it into your project and place the layer between the previous two layers. Don't worry about the blue color it will be under the orange.

Step 7

Next go to Edit > Transform > Warp and make the slice fit well there.

Step 8

Select the Eraser Tool(E), set Master Diameter to 175px, Hardness to 0% and start deleting the inside of an orange in this image. Leave just the border of the orange.

It looks pretty good for now!

Step 9

It's time to place the lace into the image. So open the image with the shoes and select one lace.

Step 10

Again, don't worry if some parts of the shoe are visible in your selection, you will remove them later.

Step 11

It's time to place the lace on your orange. Do it like you see in the next image.

Step 12

To give a more realistic look to the image take the Burn Tool(O) and start burning around the holes. If Burn Tool it is not selected in your tools palette you can select it by holding down the click (or right click) above the Text Tool (easier to notice, there is a big T on it).

Step 13

Adjust the brush size using the brackets ([- to decrease the size and ] to increase). Make sure you have the layer with the orange selected.

Step 14

And this is how the orange will look like if you turn the lace's layer off. (You can do that by clicking on the eye icon in front of the layer.)

You notice that the lace is too dark in some parts. Now we will use the opposed of Burn Tool – Dodge Toll. This will make the lace brighter. Select it (you will find it near Burn Tool) and brush above the parts where the lace is too dark.

Step 15

You can see that the leaf of the orange has a shadow below. So we can imagine that the light is coming from the right corner. We need to make a shadow to the lace too. Double click on the lace's layer to open Layer Style palette and check the Drop Shadow option. Then click on it and make the following settings:

Step 16

Now let's make the image look better. We need to get rid of that ugly shadow of the orange. Go to Image > Adjustments > Replace color. Select the shadow and then set the Lightness to 100.

You can prevent the green line to appear while you are still in Replace Color palette. After you select what color you want to replace, you can select more shades by pressing down Shift key. You will notice this on your selection.
This is what we have so far:

Step 17

It's time to make shadow to the orange too, because the leaf still has one. Go to the lace's layer, right click on it and select Copy layer style. Then go to the orange layer, right click on it and select Paste layer style.
The laced orange is done. All we have to do now is to place a background for the image by deleting the white background. Select Magic Wand Tool (W) and click on the white area. Press Delete. Do that until all the white color is gone.
Go to the original background and click on the New layer icon. This will place a new layer above the one that is active. To place it under the active layer just hold down Ctrl while you click on the New layer icon.

Set the foreground color to one that you like, background – white, and with the Gradient Tool(G) create the new background.
To give an overall color to the image, create a new layer above all of them and fill it with an orange color. If your orange color is set as foreground color in the Tools Palette you can just hit Alt + Backspace, instead going to the Paint Bucket Tool (Shift +G). If the color is on the background press Ctrl + Backspace.
Set the blending to this layer to Overlay and set the Opacity to 35%. Then get the Eraser Tool and delete around the orange.
And that's all! I hope you liked it!
