Create Vector Effect using pol

Description: Learn to create powerful vector effect in Adobe photoshop using Polygon Tool, Direct Selection Tool, Shape Layers, Marquee selection Tool.

The Vector effect is one of the most useful special effects Adobe Photoshop has to offer. This will show how to produce and alter a vector shape plus . In this tutorial we will use Polygon Tool, Direct Selection Tool, Shape Layers, Marquee selection Tool options to get that effect.

1. Select the Polygon Tool.

2. Set the Polygon Tool's options to be a "star" and to "indent sides by" 50%. Set the number of sides to the polygon to be 75.

3. Select the Shape Layers.


4. Click and drag to create the star shape.


5. Select Direct/Path Selection Tool.

6. Turn off this layer's visibility.Click on the thumbnail of the path for that layer.

7. Now this is the vector shape.

8. Using the Direct Selection Tool select the inner points of star.Select Marquee selection Tool and the hold down Shift key to add more points to your existing selection.

9.This is the star with the inner points selected.

10. Right click and select Free Transform Points.

11.Now the inner points are manipulated while the outer points remain anchored.

12. Now Turn on the layer visibility.

13.Now make a text layer and choose a font.

14.Then convert that text layer to a shape layer. Select Layer>Type>Convert to Shape option.

15. This now changes into vector shapes & you can manipulate it.

16. Turn on this layer's visibility to have solid text.

17.Turn on the first layer's visibility.

18.Now add some blending modes to achieve nice looking effects.Here's what I made:
