How to create shadowed or silhouette text effect

[1] Take a new file of 400 pixels 300 pixels of resolution 72 dpi in the RGB mode.

[2] Make sure that the Foreground is #1d3541
and the Background is #c9d9ef.

[3] Now go to the main menu and
select Filter>Render>Clouds.

 

[4] Now make the copy of layer1 and
change blending mode to Multiply.

[5] And take the text create the text.

 

[6] Go to Blending Option
apply the following settings.

[7] Your image should be look like this.

[8] Now create a new layer.

[9] Now Cntl+Click the text layer to create a selection
select menu click Modify>Contract apply the settings.

[10] Go to the main menu and select Edit>Fill
and fill with white.

[11] Go to the Blending Option
apply the following settings.
